DAY 9 : Everest seen from Kalapathar. KalaPatthar, meaning ‘black rock’ in Nepali is a notable landmark located on the south ridge of Pumori in the Nepalese Himalayas. Since it provides the most accessible point to view Mt. Everest from base camp to peak (due to the structure of Everest, the peak cannot be seen from the base camp), Kala Patthar is very popular with trekkers.
